Adam and the Ants were active from 1977 to 1982, although the original lineup of the band was eventually formed into the group Bow Wow Wow. Ant had hired Malcolm McLaren, the producer responsible for both the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls, only for McLaren to swipe the singer’s backing band for this new group. Adam Ant formed a new backing band and put out one final album before deciding to go solo.
